My Prayer for My School Life
Take away the melodies, take away the songs I sing
Take away all the lights and all the songs You let me write
Does the man I am today say the words you need to say
Let them see You in me let them hear You when I speak
Let them feel You when I sing
Let them see You, let them see You in me
Who am I with out Your grace, another smile another face
Another breath a grain of sand passing quickly through Your hand
I give my life an offering take it all take everything
Let them see You in me let them hear You when I speak
Let them feel You when I sing
Let them see You, just let them see You in me
With every breath I breathe I sing a simple melody
But I pray they’ll hear more than a song
In me, in me
Let them see You in me let them hear You when I speak
Let them feel You when I sing
Let them see You
Let them see You in me let them hear You when I speak
Let them feel You when I sing
Let them see You, let them see You in me
Let them see You in me
I drive to college every day. I'm a commueter. And it seems like everytime I have the radio on, "Let Them See You" by JJ Weeks Band plays. Just like when you hear a song over and over again you start to get tired of it, I ws getting tired of this song. But one day it hit me that this is a bit of a new prayer for me during school. I want my interactions with my classmates and teachers to be interactions that inspire and show the love of Christ. I want to be a shining light for those around me in the college hallways. This song doesn't annoy me anymore. It inspires me to be like Christ in my interactions, not only at school but everyday. This has become my prayer for my life.
